Welcome back to our final term in Year 5! Where is this school year going? I hope that you have all had a holy Easter and a restful break. We have lots of hard work and exciting adventures ahead of us for summer term and I know each and every member of Year 5 will do amazing things!

We have lots of exciting new things to get stuck into, here is a taster of what you can expect:

English

· Properties of materials

  • Compare and group everyday materials based on their properties.

· Changes of materials

  • Give reasons for the particular uses of everyday materials

· Study Greek life and achievements

Geography

· Know what is meant by biomes and know what the features of a specific biome are

· Know how to use graphs to record features such as temperature or rainfall

Art

· Architecture Dream Big or small?                                         -Use scale models to create a piece of architecture.                 -Use sketchbooks to explore materials, textures, colours

Design and Technology

 

· Solid structures (building bridges)

· Test out different bridges and make prototypes

· Create bridge and adjust materials, tools, strength as appropriate
