Catholic Social Teaching

As a school, we follow the Catholic Social Teaching Principles.  These are:

  • Family and Community
  • The Worker
  • The Poor and Needy
  • Caring for God’s Creation
  • Promotion of Peace
  • Working Together for Good
  • Right and Responsibilities
  • Dignity of the Human Person

These Catholic Social Teaching Principles come from Scripture, but also from the leaders of the Catholic Church.  By following these Principles, we are becoming people that God wants us to be.

Please watch this short video explaining what Catholic Social Teaching is:

Catholic Social Teaching Principles link with our class Saints as follows:

Class Saint Catholic Social Teaching Principle

Year 6 St Maximillian Kolbe Dignity of the Human Person

The Catholic Social Teaching Principles are taught throughout all subjects and links made to our own lives and the things we see around us.

Catholic Social Teaching is about the action we can take when we see social injustice. Some of the actions that we take as a school are shown under the 'Charitable Outreach' and 'Living it out' tabs.

We are currently working towards becoming a Live Simply school and our action plan can be found below.
