Jesus taught us to 'love one another.' We do all we can to help others. Charities we have supported are ...
Stoke on Trent Foodbank
We visited the central warehouse in Burton to find out how all the food donations are stored and distributed in Stoke on Trent. We even helped to sort out some of the food. Later we visited a nearby food Bank and learnt how the food is given to those who need it. We learnt that the food banks provide lots of other services as well as food.
Oxygen for India Appeal
Wow!! A massive £643.84 raised for our Oxygen for India Appeal. Thank you to everyone who donated, big or small. That's an oxygen concentrator to help 900 people and almost 4 oxygen tanks to help 160 people. Thank you.
Race for Life
A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our Race for Life, either volunteering on the day or by donating to Cancer Research UK. We have raised a magnificent £4,500 …. and still counting!
Odd Socks Day
Thank you to everyone who supported Odd Socks Day. We raised £154.10 for the Anti Bullying Alliance. The children learnt lots about anti-bullying and enjoyed an assembly led by Year 2.
A big thank you to everyone for your generous donations of unwanted toys, school uniforms, children’s furniture, beds and cots. The Alice Charity were overwhelmed by the generosity of the families at St George & St Martin’s.
Thank you to everyone who supported our Food Bank collection. There was a huge amount of food collected that can go towards feeding people in our local area.
Children in Need
Thank you so much to everyone who donated to Children in Need through buying badges, ears and bracelets. We raised an amazing £275.85. Well done!
We took part in the Dougie Mac 'Bring a Pound' day on Tuesday, 25th September. The children were able to splat the teachers for £2 per splat. We raised £180.00! Thank you to everyone who supported this fantastic cause.
Thank you so much for your generosity for our Lenten Collections. We have raised £1,283.52! Consequently, £641.76 will go to Malawi and £160.44 each to CAFOD, Father Hudsons, Sisters of Mercy and Alice Charity. Thank you once again for all your support.
There are 300 million children in the world for whom walking with shoes is a rarity. This makes them extremely vulnerable to infection by parasites, such as hookworm; while injuries to the feet and ankles can lead to ulcers and other conditions which are almost always left untreated. Without shoes, many children are not permitted to attend school.
Thank you so much to all our families who donated so many unwanted shoes. The response was overwhelming. You have made such a difference to so many children. Thank you.
What an amazing sight! Thank you SO much to all our parents for your generous donations towards our Harvest Festival. All of these items will be donated to the Stoke on Trent Foodbank to support the wonderful work they do:
We support a nationwide network of food banks and together we provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.
In the UK, more than 14 million people are living in poverty – including 4.5 million children. We support more than 1,200 food bank centres in the UK to provide a minimum of three days’ nutritionally-balanced emergency food to people who have been referred in crisis, as well as support to help people resolve the crises they face. Between April 2018 and March 2019, food banks in our network provided a record 1.6 million food supplies to people in crisis, a 19% increase on the previous year.
We know it takes more than food to end hunger. That’s why we bring together the experiences of food banks in our network to challenge the structural economic issues that lock people in poverty, and campaign to end the need for food banks in the UK.
